MX-INJECT NHL, low-salt NHL-based pozzolanic injection grout, mixed with water, allows you to package injection grouts compatible with existing masonry construction materials.

The special formulation of MX-INJECT NHL ensures excellent mechanical compatibility with the materials present in historic buildings and guarantees total chemical inertia for perfect compatibility with the original structure.

Thanks to its special chemical composition, MX-INJECT NHL is ideal for use on historic buildings since it prevents the risk of chemical reactions with the salts present especially in ancient masonry.

MX-INJECT NHL is also suitable for preparing and repairing the existing masonry support prior to applying the FRCM and Reinforced Plaster structural strengthening systems.

This special grout is also particularly suitable for localised, passive repairs on existing masonry, such as when injecting mortar complementary to wider interventions designed strengthen the structure of the building.

How to use the MX-INJECT NHL injection grout?

As with all structural strengthening products, the preparation phase of the existing masonry is essential for the success of the procedure.

Preparing existing masonry for structural strengthening with NHL lime-based pozzolanic grout injections.

✔ In the case of deteriorated supports, remove and scarify the discontinuous parts of the existing mortar.

Repointing any damage/cracks to prevent the mixture leaking.

Drill about 3-5 holes per m² so that they reach approximately the centre of the wall.

Clean the hole and then insert the injection tubes.

Wash the entire masonry via the tubes using low-pressure water at least 24 hours before the injections.

Wait for the masonry support to absorb all the water before injecting MX-INJECT NHL.

Preparing the mix for injection grouting

MX-INJECT NHL does not require the addition of other materials. ✔ Mix the contents of the bag with about 7.5-8.0 litres of clean water. ✔ Mix for about 5 minutes until a superfluid, lump-free paste is obtained.

Performing grout injections

✔  Inject MX-INJECT NHL until the hole is completely saturated, proceeding from the bottom upwards and checking whether the grout leaks from any of the adjacent holes positioned above.

As soon as you notice MX-INJECT NHL leaking from any of the adjacent tubes, interrupt the operation and close the tube you are currently using to inject the product.

Resume injecting the product via the tube from which it was leaking.

✔ Repeat the operation until the mortar begins to leak from the uppermost injection hole.

✔ Once the strengthening procedure is complete, remove the tubes and fill the holes with suitable mortar.
