The
structural strengthening work carried out on the building was designed both
to improve anti-seismic safety and increase its
energy efficiency, within the context of a complete building renovation.
The
static strengthening of the walls, both internal and external, was realised using Ruregold
structural strengthening solutions
, based on FRCM composite materials. More specifically, the
C-MESH 84/84 system, consisting of a 168 g/m
2 bi-directional carbon fibre mesh, was used, together with
MX-RW High Performance premixed, fibre-reinforced mortar for structural strengthening of existing masonry and
C-JOINT carbon fibre anchoring connectors.
The horizontal elements were strengthened by using Leca lightweight structural concrete to create a new slab, which was interconnected with the existing one using
CentroStorico Connectors.
In the case of the house in Colognole,
CentroStorico Timber and
Steel connectors were used, together with
Perimeter Connectors for securing the slabs to the walls. Subsequently, the
Leca CLS 1400 lightweight structural concrete was laid.
Laterlite provided
all the necessary technical and design support, not only with regard to
strengthening the slabs with the
Leca systems, but also for the
structural strengthening work carried out using
Ruregold technologies, during the design, supply and installation phases
. In addition to guaranteeing the static and anti-seismic performance of the building, the work permitted the customer to
benefit from the Sismabonus financial incentives offered by the Superbonus 110% scheme.
