Ruregold
Ruregold, an Italian based company, has over 20 years experience in innovative cementitious structural reinforcement systems and is part of the Laterlite S.p.A. Group.
In 2001 Ruregold introduced a worldwide innovation in the field of structural reinforcements by patenting several innovative FRCM (Fibre Reinforced Cementitious Matrix) sytems with PBO synthetic fibres and Carbon, that provide high tensile strengths and an improved modulus of elasticity, offering a superior alternative to epoxy resins with traditional FRP systems
The many advantages include Class A Fire Rating, ability to be applied in damp and wet conditions, breathability, and ease of installation (no need for a “specialty” applicator).
PBO (Polyparaphenylene Benzobis Oxazole) fibres are a new generation of ultra-high performance fibers, used in many applications, including Formula One racing cars and modern racing yachts. Compared with carbon fibers normally used in FRP composite reinforcement systems,PBO fibers have 20% greater tensile strength, and 15% greater modulus of elasticity.
Tests required for the certification of the system were performed at the accredited Laboratory of the University of Miami and relative certification was issued by US ICC-ES. Since 2001 several million sq.ft have been applied worldwide, including bridges, cooling towers, embassies and schools.
